Senior Vice President, Marketing – Nashville, TN

MarketPro has partnered with a leading global producer of quality live entertainment to find a dynamic Senior Vice President (SVP), Marketing (Nashville, TN). This company, ranked as the largest in its category, has the mission to provide positive experiences that move the soul and impact the world, one event at a time.

As a key member of the executive team, the SVP’s role is to provide vision and leadership for all marketing initiatives. The SVP will be charged with building the overall brand long-term while driving short-term ticketing sales strategies for more than 1,100 events annually. The SVP will drive the vision for key functional areas including marketing, public relations, media, creative, brand, customer satisfaction, partnerships, and loyalty programs. The ideal candidate must be analytically driven and exceptionally creative/innovative in driving revenue and growth for the company. He/she will need to identify target markets and enhance the company’s brand by reinforcing the value proposition via all available marketing channels, with a heavy emphasis on digital channels.

The SVP will set the road map and objectives for marketing to achieve aggressive business and financial growth and retention goals. This individual will provide strategic direction for marketing with specific focus on planning, developing sustainable/scalable marketing programs, budgeting, analysis, and forecasting. The SVP will provide the vision for developing effective methods to track and evaluate the performance of the organization’s marketing functions. This includes data collection, real time interpretation of results, and instituting best practices and processes with an emphasis on transparency. Developing dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to know what’s working and what needs improvement will be important.

The SVP will also need to identify and implement an optimal marketing organizational structure, including evaluating the functions that should be handled internally vs. externally.


  • Global brand development
    o Company brand, nomenclature, visual identity
    o Individual events and artists
    o Develop a corporate understanding of the brand’s business risks, competitive landscape, and industry-wide (or niche) opportunities.
  • Drive ticket sales
    o Identify target audience
    o Select optimal marketing channels – traditional and digital media
    o Develop appropriate content for event and tour marketing
    o Oversee event on-sale direction and execution and respond appropriately if ticket sales are not tracking per plan
  • Analytics and insights
    o Target markets
    o Competitive marketplace
    o Customer satisfaction
    o Customer journey/experience – identify and eliminate friction points
    o Dashboard creation of KPI’s for individual events and overall company performance
  • Financial
    o Develop and manage marketing budgets
    o Measurement of Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS)
    o Accountable for overall event revenue
  • Management
    o Analyze and develop optimal marketing structure
    o Mentor, motivate and lead team
    o Oversee creative development for all marketing initiatives
    o Cross departmental coordination, especially with SVP Global Touring, talent buyers, and project managers to ensure events are produced true to the brand
    o Select, negotiate contracts with, and manage, external agencies, freelancers and project teams as needed
  • Marketing Technology
    o Embrace and investigate technology to improve operational efficiency and customer journey e.g. SMS, AI, CMS, website, online ticketing sales, etc.
  • Serve as Brand Steward —with artists, sponsors, production partners, venues, industry contacts, and others— ensuring company delivers on its brand promise to deliver “events that move the soul” and drive continued brand awareness via marketing and public relations campaigns.
    o Build a positive social image via public relations campaigns, targeted advertising, social networking / online community engagement.
  • Contribute positively to the overall company culture by being a person of integrity, being true to your word, encouraging, and having a positive impact on all who you interact with


  • Minimum 15+ years of marketing experience with recent and significant experience in a marketing leadership position.
  • Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership role with a thorough knowledge of marketing principles, sales and business development.
  • Proven track record of driving the overall success of a marketing organization.
  • Self-starter and motivated by a challenge.
  • Someone who enjoys an entrepreneurial atmosphere and has been through the experience of scaling up a growth organization in both size and revenue. Experience working in a dynamic environment is strongly preferred.
  • The SVP will possess a strong track record of developing successful, innovative, and cost-effective marketing campaigns in an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment.
  • Expert level experience using analytics to drive marketing efforts. Strong General Manager skills and proven experience managing P&L’s
  • Strong experience building, motivating, inspiring and leading a top grade marketing team. Someone who can ensure that the team has the best possible talent (A players) at each level.
  • Experience in live events, touring, ticketing, artist/venue management preferred.
