Vice President of Product Innovation, Mobile Payments - Atlanta

MarketPro has partnered with a fast-growing FinTech brand here in Atlanta in a marketing executive search for a dynamic VP of Product Innovation, Mobile Payments. Historically, this brand has grown at a 30% YoY and has been named one of Forbes “most innovative.” Today, innovation plays a key role in their growth. The VP of Product Innovation, Mobile Payments will be the trailblazer to that path, reinventing and redefining future opportunities, products and new ventures in emerging mobile technology.

This newly created position is a key member of a newly formed FinTech Think Tank tasked with exploring and driving strategy for future growth and mobile payments innovation. Reporting to the President, the VP of Product Innovation will be a FinTech thought leader that’s swift, decisive and will take on a consultative approach to strategy development. The biggest question he/she will answer is “What’s the next mobile way to pay?”

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current state of mobile payments within cards and relative position in it
  • Create a midterm mobile payments and POS innovation strategy for based on those insights
  • Produce a global mobile payments product road map informed by customer insights, competitive dynamics, partner requirements and financial targets
  • Lead and monitor execution of the mobile strategy
  • Create a process and reporting suite to track progress and KPIs
  • Foster effective and productive relationships with key global stakeholders… e.g, LOB senior execs, local product teams, IT, corporate partners, outside vendors
  • Deliver on-time, high quality special project work as required by the President and CEO (eg, business analyses, forecasts, status reports, etc.)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading 4-year college or university (Quantitative/analytical degree preferred)
  • High academic achievement required, MBA preferred
  • Over 10 years of experience in a product development or product marketing roles at a credit card issuer or a similar payments business
  • B2B card experience is preferred
  • Must understand thoroughly the payments industry and its key underlying technology
  • Must have deep experience implementing a product in the mobile channel (not only managing an existing mobile offering)
  • Mobile loyalty experience is a strong plus
  • Must have deep knowledge of the key mobile wallet technologies, mobile loyalty aggregators and mobile rail technologies (e.g, EMV, tokenization, contactless, geo-fencing/POI)
  • Proven career advancement with very strong performance ratings
