MarketPro Conducts CMO Executive Search for The Trust for Public Land

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – January 25, 2017 – Great news for conservationists and fans of the outdoors! The MarketPro team is excited to announce the placement of Shannon Morgan Stearns as the new Chief Marketing Officer of The Trust for Public Land.

The Trust for Public Land is a national nonprofit. Founded in 1972, its mission is to create parks and protect land for people, ensuring healthy, livable communities for genera­tions to come. The organization is proud to have created more than 5,000 places and protected more than 3 million acres nationwide, from neighborhood parks to national parks.

“It was privilege to complete a nonprofit CMO executive search for an organization with such an incredible mission,” said Bob Van Rossum, President of MarketPro.

The Trust for Public Land was in need of a new marketing leader to raise awareness for its work, and to engage existing and new donors as well as government agencies, NGOs, and community partners. The CMO had to be someone with extensive digital marketing experience as well as the ability to restructure the marketing department to best serve the strategic needs of the organization. Additionally, the individual needed a personal connection to the organization’s goals and overarching mission.

Stearns will move into her new position from a previous role as Vice President of Marketing at CamelBak, the leader in hydration for cycling, hiking, and fitness.

“Shannon was an incredible find by our recruitment team,” Van Rossum. “Her experience marketing to an audience of outdoor enthusiasts, as well as her own passion for outdoor recreation and conservation, make her ideally suited to step in and take the reins as a leader for the entire organization.”
