MarketPro has partnered with an international CPG premium food/beverage brand for a digital marketing executive search based in Denver. The ideal candidate must be a driven and engaged professional who has a deep understanding of the direction the digital landscape is going and a passion for all things digital.
As the head of Digital Marketing you will be responsible for the strategic thought leadership to create and drive the digital vision for Consumer and Customer Excellence and key related operational initiatives for the company as a whole. This role will be a subject matter expert providing value to the business to ensure that the company’s digital strategy and vision is activated throughout the organization and with partner (agencies, customers) so that our iconic brands are more relevant to consumers and contribute to more retail activation & sales. Digital will be driven as a means (not an end) to accelerate/differentiate our First Choice for Consumers & Customers ambition.
The role will identify key digital strategic partnerships including incubator & venturing opportunities and work with brand, channel, customer and field sales to activate them. This person will also design operating policies and procedures in concert with Legal, IT & Business Units and roll them out with Consumer Excellence and the field. The individual will develop solutions to diverse problems ranging from technical to consumer to organizational change management. Given the broad influence and diverse nature of solutions this person will develop, an individual with the maturity and style to take into consideration multiple perspectives is required.
The role is responsible for collaborating with and influencing commercial business leaders at all levels in developing digital strategies, as well as consulting with those leaders in defining opportunities to appropriately leverage & extend the use of digital solutions in addressing business opportunities & challenges. This role will also drive organizational capability development and measurement to track progress of Digital.
Strategy and Ideation — As a subject matter expert, develop, evaluate, and consistently communicate a compelling digital strategy. From this strategy, provide creative direction and demonstrate thought leadership and influence at all levels across the global organization.
Partnering — Lead collaboration with Digital partners including existing platforms such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. to shape commercial platform direction, quick adapt commercial opportunities and ensure best-in-class capability & leverage of all platforms. Work constantly to identify new opportunities based on business needs to develop & apply Digital solutions. Includes management of $2mm incubator budget to pilot new ideas and work with Strategy on possible venturing partners.
Planning and analysis – Work in concert with brand owners, communications, field, IT, channel and customer marketing, and media to ensure digital activities are in line with overarching strategy. Gain organizational alignment behind digital model (amounts/budget owners).Work closely with media, retail, brand, field teams to establish digital as a business driver. Drive ROI-centric mentality with digital investments. Drive ideas with brand strategy, retail marketing, media, IT, field, and digital agencies.
Communications and Influence — Develops & maintains relationships with commercial business leaders. Ensure that all stakeholders are in alignment with both strategic imperatives and executional mandates:
- Consumer Excellence leadership
- Field Marketing
- Agency partners
Ensure that the plan is communicated in such a way that it optimizes execution (e.g. drive simplicity and focus).
Collaboration and Leadership — Success in motivating and inspiring collaboration cross-functionally to achieve results greater than individual actions, and to instill confidence both horizontally and vertically within the system. Ensure that resources are developed and performance managed to optimize utilization of resources and to create future potential within the marketing team.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 10 years’ experience within a consumer goods company is required.
- Digital marketing experience with agency or CPG industry.
- Experience in digital marketing, including strategy development.
- Solid understanding of brand positioning theory and the importance of 360 degree marketing.
- Refined skill base in providing creative direction and the evaluation thereof.
- Demonstration of thought leadership by taking prudent risks individually and through the team.
- Strong analytical background.
- Skills leading to the development of an environment of creativity.
